As we prepare for a lockdown on life as know it for a while there is some important information you should know if you are pregnant.

At the time of writing pregnant women are being advised to minimise social contact for up to 12 weeks from this weekend (21st March). The UK government's chief medical adviser, Prof. Chris Whitty, said limited evidence suggested there were currently no known coronavirus-related complications in pregnancy.

But he added the UK was still "very early in what we know about this". Therefore, there are simple precautions you can take and top of that list is washing of hands. We all know now that we must regularly wash our hands thoroughly for at least 20 seconds. If you must visit the supermarket or attend a hospital appointment then use hand sanitizer.

The government have published specific advice for pregnant women, see below and for more information we recommend visiting the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists website.

The government has issued five points that people in at-risk groups such as the over-70s, those with underlying conditions, and pregnant women should follow "as much as you can":

From all at moKee, stay safe and look after one another!
